About The Project

An experienced bathroom designer can envision the possibilities better than most clients can, and this wonderful project is an excellent example. Mr and Mrs Evans contacted our team to design a new en-suite that would make it easier for their daughter with special needs to use, creating the perfect balance between style and functionality.

With the brief in mind, our specialists in bathrooms in Harpenden started by moving the WC and basin to a different side of the room. We then carefully specified certain products that would help the family’s daily life. For instance, a Vado sensor basin tap set at a fixed safe temperature, a folding shower seat to make showering more straightforward, the placement of the shower control in relation to the main shower head and an additional shower head for someone to assist when required.

To further ensure that the en-suite remained manageable and easy to clean, we supplied a single-piece ceramic basin and combined worktop from Calypso, along with a wall-hung WC fitted to a Geberit WC frame (this design makes it far easier to keep the underneath clean). And, as with most of the wetrooms we design, an Impey system was used for the wetroom base and waterproof tanking solution.

For the finishing touches, a Warmup underfloor heating kit was fitted not only to keep the en-suite warm but also to aid in drying up the wet room floor after use. Lastly, a bespoke room-width mirror was installed to bounce light around the room, creating the illusion of a far bigger space.
